Why ECMAC Exists

Fostering One Community, One Voice.

Founded in 2007, the Emerald Coast Military Affairs Council brings together citizens, business leaders, and military leadership across Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties to make every Airman, soldier, sailor, and Marine serving in the Emerald Coast feel welcome, appreciated, and fully part of our community — while coordinating with local, state, and federal partners to ensure that community speaks with one voice.

Support Our Programs

ECMAC is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit — contributions support our scholarship, military family programs, and appreciation events. (We’re pursuing 501(c)(3) status; ask us about deductibility.)

What We’re Working On

Advocating for the Issues That Affect Our mission and people

From the Military Mission Line to healthcare access and childcare availability, ECMAC works year-round with base leadership and government agencies to raise issues that matter to the families who serve here.

Spectrum Encroachment

The FCC is proposing to auction mid-band spectrum (upper C-band) for commercial 5G — bands that the DoD depends on for military radars, missile defense, and Eglin’s Spectrum Warfare mission. Moving military users off these bands could cost billions and take decades. ECMAC is working to ensure DoD equities are protected in the spectrum policy process.

More Issues Coming

ECMAC is also tracking housing, childcare, and healthcare access for military families in the region. Additional issues will be highlighted here as ECMAC formalizes its advocacy priorities.

Supporting Our Military Community All Year Long

ECMAC exists to build a stronger bond between this community and the service members who call it home — through scholarships, holiday support, recognition, and a standing seat at the table with base and government leadership.

Service. Community. Gratitude.

“When the families were leaving you saw amazement, joy and pride on their faces. It was patriotic and focused on the recruits.”
